This video makes useful points about young people and enterprise
More than half of young people in the UK aged 16 to 24 want to start their own business.
To help them get their ideas off the ground, the council has launched an annual Westminster Enterprise Week to connect young people in Westminster to the world-class enterprise opportunities on their doorstep. The first Westminster Enterprise Week took place from 16-22 November 2015.
Over 1,000 students from Westminster secondary schools and colleges visited innovative businesses including Bafta and Oscar award-winning studios, toured Westminster’s enterprise spaces, took part in masterclasses and workshops, and even had the opportunity to pitch their business ideas to former Apprentice star, Margaret Mountford.
Questions I ask myself:
- Is there anything like this in Croydon?
- Could/should there be?
- It is inspirational – but what happens after “being inspired”?
- What continuing support do these young people need/get?
- What could/should be delivered for them in Croydon?
- How could it happen?
